Today I'm writing a devlog to show you some of the efforts I'm putting towards one of, who I felt was, my weaker character sprites.
Many of my character sprites are just original drawings that I'm using to test something new in my art. I tend to make them free to use because it not only puts them in a place where they can see the light of day and helps others, it also inspires me to not just put in half the effort.
The test with Aoto was to try and draw an ikemen type character. While I don't hate the original drawing by any means, it never turned out close to how I originally wanted to draw an ikemen character. I gave it some time and put a lot of research and effort into how I wanted to develop this style and the new Aoto is much closer to my original intended look.
Although I usually prefer to draw ikemen with dark outlines, I wanted this one to fit with my newstyle sprites and thus tried to keep a similar style to those with the coloring, shading, and outlines.

This new version of Aoto will be available soon, once I get a few more outfits onto the base and tweak it all a little more. The old version, as always, will remain available as well.
